Key Changes in PGWP Rules 2025 🛂

  1. No Field-of-Study Restriction for University Graduates 🎓
    If you hold a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree, you can now apply for a PGWP regardless of your field of study.
  2. Language Proficiency Requirement 🗣️
    • University graduates: CLB/NCLC 7 in reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
    • College or diploma programs: CLB/NCLC 5.
    • Language test results must be less than 2 years old at the time of application.
  3. Exemptions ⚠️
    • Applications submitted before November 1, 2024.
    • Graduates of PGWP-eligible flight schools.
  4. Master’s Programs Flexibility 🎓
    • Eligible for a 3-year PGWP even if the program was less than 2 years, as long as the program is at least 8 months (900 hours for Quebec programs) and all other requirements are met.

Steps to Apply for PGWP 2025 💻

  1. Confirm Eligibility
    Check your program length and field (if applicable) and language test score.
  2. Prepare Required Documents
    • Completion letter and transcript
    • Passport
    • Language test results
    • IRCC application forms
  3. Submit Online
    Apply via the IRCC portal within 180 days of completing your program.
  4. Maintain Status
    Apply before study permit expiry or within 90 days to restore status.
  5. Wait for IRCC Processing
