Canadian Immigration

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has increased the minimum required settlement funds for applicants under the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) and the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP).

💰 What Has Changed?

Additional members+ CAD 3,958 each+ CAD 4,112 each

This annual adjustment reflects changes in Canada’s low-income cut-off figures.

🧩 Who Must Show Funds?

IRCC requires proof of settlement funds for all FSWP and FSTP applicants—unless you qualify under the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) or hold a valid job offer and are authorized to work in Canada. Note: even exempt applicants must upload a profile letter indicating their exemption.

📅 What You Must Do

  • Submit your updated proof of funds by July 28, 2025, in your Express Entry profile to remain eligible.
  • Updating won’t affect your profile’s original submission time, ensuring your ranking remains intact in case of tie-breakers.

📝 What Counts as Proof?

Acceptable documents include official bank letters (on letterhead) with:

  • Financial institution’s contact details
  • Applicant’s name, account numbers, balances (current & 6-month average)
  • Outstanding debt declarations

❌ Real estate equity and borrowed funds don’t qualify.
