British Columbia Invites 474 Candidates in Back-to-Back PNP Draws
The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) has conducted an aggressive round of invitations, issuing 474 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) over a two-day period. This latest selection targets both skilled workers with high earning potential and entrepreneurs ready to invest in the province's economy.
By securing a provincial nomination, these candidates are one step closer to obtaining Canadian Permanent Residence, bypassing the intense competition of general Express Entry draws.
Assess Your Eligibility for BC PNP1. Skills Immigration Draw (February 11, 2026)
On February 11, the province shifted its focus toward individuals deemed capable of creating a "high economic impact." BC issued 460 ITAs to skilled workers who met strict wage or points-based criteria.
To be invited in this round, candidates needed to meet one of two strict conditions:
1. Wage + Job Offer: A minimum wage of $62/hour AND an annual salary of $125,000/year in a NOC TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3 occupation.
2. Points-Based: A minimum BC PNP registration score of 135 points.
Draw Breakdown: Skills Immigration
| Date | Selection Category | Invitations Issued |
|---|---|---|
| February 11 | Wage + Job Offer ($125k/yr) | 195 |
| February 11 | Points-Based (Score ≥ 135) | 265 |
| Total | 460 |
2. Entrepreneur Immigration Draw (February 10, 2026)
One day prior, on February 10, the province targeted foreign investors and business owners. BC issued 14 ITAs across its two primary entrepreneur streams.
| Stream | Minimum Score | Invitations Issued |
|---|---|---|
| Base Stream | 121 | 13 |
| Regional Stream | 105 | < 5* |
*Note: BC PNP frequently lists smaller draw totals as "<5" to protect the privacy and anonymity of the successful candidates.
Understanding the Entrepreneur Streams:
- Base Stream: Allows candidates to start or purchase a business anywhere in BC. It demands higher financial commitments: a minimum net worth of $600,000 and a minimum investment of $200,000. It generally does not require a community referral.
- Regional Stream: Designed to boost economies in participating smaller communities. It requires an exploratory visit and a formal community referral. However, the financial thresholds are lower: a minimum net worth of $300,000 and a minimum investment of $100,000 (with at least 51% ownership). Candidates must also show language proficiency earlier in the process.
3. The BC PNP Candidate Pool: Where Do You Stand?
If you are waiting in the BC PNP pool, understanding your competition is vital. As of February 8, 2026, there are 10,988 active registrations in the Skills Immigration pool.
With the recent points-based cutoff sitting at 135, you can see in the table below that only a tiny fraction of candidates currently meet that threshold (roughly 700 people out of nearly 11,000). To secure an ITA, candidates must aggressively find ways to boost their provincial score.
