🚨 New Brunswick PNP Mega-Draw: 379 Invitations Issued in 2026 Season Opener

The New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NBPNP) has officially ignited the 2026 immigration season with a high-volume selection round. Conducted between January 13 and 15, 2026, the province issued a total of 379 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to candidates with deep-rooted ties to the province.
This draw is particularly significant as it marks the long-awaited return of the Strategic Initiative Stream, which had been on pause for over a year. If you have been working, studying, or speaking French in New Brunswick, your path to Permanent Residence (PR) just became a lot clearer.
📊 January 2026 Draw Results: At a Glance
The cut-off for all Expressions of Interest (EOI) considered in this round was January 12, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. AST.
| Stream | Invitations Issued | Priority Pathways |
| NB Skilled Worker Stream | 244 | NB Experience & NB Graduates |
| NB Strategic Initiative Stream | 115 | Francophone Priorities |
| NB Express Entry Stream | 20 | Employment in New Brunswick |
| Total ITAs | 379 | All Sectors Targeted |
1. New Brunswick Skilled Worker Stream (64% of ITAs)
This stream remains the powerhouse of New Brunswick immigration, focusing on those already contributing to the local economy.
NB Experience Pathway: Requires you to have lived in NB for the last 6 months, be working full-time in a non-seasonal role, and have at least 6 months of experience with your current supporting employer.
NB Graduates Pathway: Targeted at those who completed a PGWP-eligible program at an NB-based institution and have secured a full-time job offer in the province.
2. NB Strategic Initiative Stream: The Francophone Revival
After being paused throughout 2025 due to high inventory, this stream is officially back. It targets French-speaking professionals who can help maintain the province’s unique linguistic balance.
Who was invited?
Candidates living in NB who completed at least a one-year program at Université de Moncton or CCNB.
Candidates who received a formal Letter of Interest from Immigration New Brunswick.
3. New Brunswick Express Entry Stream
This “Enhanced” stream is the fastest route for those already in the federal pool. A nomination here grants you an automatic 600 CRS points.
Eligibility: You must have lived in NB for the last 12 months and have been working full-time for an NB employer in a TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3 position for at least one year.
🚫 Important: 2026 Restricted Occupations
New Brunswick has explicitly stated that it is currently not considering EOIs for several over-saturated roles. If your job falls under these NOCs, you may need to look at alternative pathways:
Administrative Assistants (NOC 13110)
Food Service Supervisors (NOC 62020)
Cooks (NOC 63200) and Bakers (NOC 63202)
Retail Sales Supervisors (NOC 62010)
🛠️ How to Prepare for the Next NB Draw
Submit Your EOI: Ensure your profile is active in the INB Portal.
Verify Your Ties: New Brunswick almost exclusively invites those already living, working, or studying in the province.
Check Your NOC: Ensure your job is not on the restricted list and matches your TEER level requirements.
